Old School Racer is a very interesting arcade racing for Windows Phone in which you will have an opportunity to race on incredibly challenging tracks by several motocross motorcycles. The game is distributed in a few variants, and an inexperienced user may have some difficulties in sorting them out, but we are going to unscramble it.
Game features depending on the versionThe first version of the game (with the prefix Classic) has mixed graphics and at the same time is divided into the free and paid versions, while the second one can please you with a more clearly drawn landscape and is distributed only charged with an opportunity to play the demo version. Actually, motorcycles and the main character are performed equally well in all the games. The differences are only in the design of locations. In one game, everything around is made of very large pixels, while in the second the detailing is at a high enough level.
GameplayAs for the gameplay, in all the games it is equally good and in any case will delight fans of the genre. The main objective of both games is to reach the finish line designated with the proper flag. The first of available motorcycles doesn't feature anything special, and to overcome a track by it, you will need to promptly accelerate, slow down, try to keep the balance by changing a posture of your mentee, and even to drive backwards.
The second motorcycle has in addition to an ordinary engine with rear-wheel drive, also a jet thrust. However, do not fall over it, as it leads to overheating and exploding of a motorcycle. The temperature of the jet engine can be monitored with a horizontal indicator that appears at the top of the screen while turning on the turbine.
Basic and additional obstaclesCertainly, in the game you will find a huge number of springboards, ascents and descents, but apart from them there are additional obstacles in the form of spikes which should be avoided. In case of contact with the spikes, the race comes to an end and you return to the last saving point. Yes, there are such stuff as well, but they can be found out only in case of failure as they are not indicated on the tracks.
The free pixel version of the game is limited only in choosing a motorcycle and ends with the second bike. However, it is still possible to visit all the routes by the first two motorcycles, so we won't make a tragedy out of this. The demo version of the game with more pleasing graphics are also limited in the number of available locations, so you will have to purchase it anyway (if you like it, of course).
Extra schticks of the higher-quality versionFeatures of the higher-quality performance of the game also involve the gameplay. For example, in addition to the obstacles listed, there are also bombs and the wind that can push the rider with his iron horse straight to the ceiling and allows you to ride on the vertical walls. Physics of the game is present but, thanks to some points, it is quite peculiar.
ResumeWe have said everything possible about the graphics. In each variant, it deserves respect. As a soundtrack to the first game there is only the roar of the engine, and the second contains tracks of rock music.
