Yandex.Navigator is a great free navigator for Windows Phone which has already been coping with its challenges in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Turkey, and soon we hope to see it's covering the whole world, as it is implemented in the applications for iOS and Android. The beauty of this program is not only in the fact that it is distributed and used free of charge, but also in its maps which are the most detailed.

Basic features of the program

With its help, you can easily find a building or an organization you're interested in, and then you will be able to plan the route regardless of whether you're taking some transport to get to the destination, or want to walk on foot. However, the program is more focused on drivers, and now we are going to discuss all its intricacies.

As it has already been mentioned, the first task of the navigator is to develop a route from point A to point B. In this case, you will see an extent of the load of the track by color indicators, and in case of obstacles you will also be notified with the appropriate marks on the road. Under the obstacles there are meant traffic accidents, road repair, police ambush, stationary traffic enforcement cameras and other events somehow affecting the speed of the traffic flow.

Providing information and communicating with other road users

You yourself can leave notes about various situations directly from the program's interface. Moreover, you can specify the direction of the flow, traffic lane and a type of mark (accidents, road works, cameras and other marks), but the most interesting, in our opinion, is a schtick entitled "Conversations". Imagine that you are, for example, got stuck in traffic or have to wait for someone when sitting in a car. In this case, you will have an opportunity to chat with similar drivers directly from the interface of the navigator.

A remarkable feature of the program is the ability to set waypoints on the route, so that the program can calculate your whole way and doesn't make you go in circles at interchanges and overpasses. Of course, to upload the information on the current situation on the roads the internet traffic is used, so when in roaming, you are advisable not to forget about this and even better to disable information data if they are unnecessary.

Maps features

The available maps are represented in three versions: Schematic, Satellite and People. The first one is a vector, very easy, intelligible and good-looking map, the second one may be more useful in nature's lap but for obvious reasons it spends more traffic, and the third map, according to some data, is more detailed. Other good news is the implementation of advance download of most of the major cities so that you do not spend traffic for loading maps while in another region. Hopefully, the list of cities will be regularly updated, and then the program can exactly be used without fear of unnecessary costs on Internet traffic.
