Angry Bots is a beta version of the decent three-dimensional shooter for Windows Phone which has a huge number of admirers among the users of iOS and Android devices. The game is built on the engine called Unity3D, and despite the fact that it has not yet been upgraded, playing it is very interesting. The game is distributed for free - at least, until the fully finished version of it is released.

The main character of the game is a soldier named John McClure armed with automatic weapons. His task is to mop up the military base from bots that are very aggressive and constantly trying to destroy our ward. Some of the bots don't pose a threat as long as you do not approach them too close or wake them up with shooting, but most of them constantly cruise around the base in search of some human race representatives.

Gameplay features

It is advisable to shoot the robots when they are at a safe distance, because in case of an explosion the main character would also get injured. The state of health of our ward will be illustrated by an indicator in the form of a cylinder located behind his back. The green light indicates that everything is OK and there's nothing to worry about. As getting damaged, the indicator will turn subsequently yellow, orange and then red, and when the main character dies, you go back to the last saving point reminiscent of either a hyperbaric chamber, or some kind of a lift.

As has already been said, you need to explore the entire base and destroy all the bots, but there is a caveat. The game has no actual levels, but instead of them there is a transition to different parts of the base, and to achieve this, you need to open the doors to adjacent compartments. When seeing the stripes of red in the corridors, you can be sure that by walking along them you will get either to a closed door, or to a control panel with which you can open that very door.

Controlling and nuances related

In order to open another door, just stand next to the control panel a few seconds and you will see how the strip changes from red to green. Once that happens, you can run along the strip and will surely come to the next compartment. Controlling in the game is performed by using two virtual joysticks located in the lower right and left corners of the screen. The left joystick is responsible for the movements across the locations, and the right one is for shooting and its direction.

The only inconvenience in the game is related precisely to these joysticks, because they are located too close to the edge of the screen. It's really uncomfortable. But the graphics of the game are performed for A+. This applies to details and animation, and the presence of special effects. The soundtrack consists primarily of firing sounds, but it is implemented at a decent level. Some buzzes are probable on the weaker devices. We hope that in the near future, the game developers will get it to its final shape. However, in this case, the game will likely cease to be free, as it was with versions for Android.
