Turn N Run is a very interesting and exciting game for Windows Phone from the developers of Electronic Arts who managed to combine several genres in one game. In fact, this is the arcade game but there is enough space both for a platformer and a puzzle. The main character of the game is very reminiscent of a character from the animated film "Monsters vs. Aliens", Dr. Cockroach. He by any means needs to get on a rocket and fly home, but there's one problem...
GameplayThe thing is that the cubes which the main character and the rocket stand upon are hanging in space and it is quite a good distance between them. At least, in the three-dimensional world things are going this way. What to do in this case? It turns out, it's pretty easy if you have developed a three-dimensional way of thinking and can perceive the layers of reality depending on from which side to look at an object. You know how to take a picture on which the sun is lying at the palm of your hand, don't you? In this game the principle is exactly the same.
Just expand the three-dimensional world at different perspectives, and some remote units will appear very close to the main character. The crucial thing is to not think about this as an illusion, and then you will succed to get our hero to move to the target easily. As you progress through the levels, in the game there will start to appear portals and other elements that lend a little variety and complexity to the gameplay. As it has been already mentioned, the ultimate goal of the game is a space rocket but there are intermediate goals in the form of crystals which are to be collected.
Nuances and secondary tasksWhat is interesting, while collecting crystals you may not be able to fully project the three-dimensional world into the two-dimensional one. That is, for example, if two crystals lie at one plane but in reality they are situated upon different blocks, you will have to rotate the gaming location a little longer. Due to this nuance as well there will often be situations when you accidentally lead the main character to the rocket not allowing him to collect all the crystals.
ResumeThe graphics in the game are mixed, and it looks three-dimensional only when you turn the world around. As for the rest moments, the graphics are two-dimensional making the game look like a platformer. Controlling in the game is very simple. To expand the gaming world you need to make a swipe to the left or right, and to make the main character move you need to click on the cube to which are going to send him. In general, the game is really addictive, and the amount of money that the developer asks for the full version is absolutely worth it.
