Quality sound, distinctive levels, true-to-life game play, responsive controls, true-to-life physics
Graphics could have been better, paid continuation
Infinite Flight is undoubtedly the best flight simulator for Windows Phone, gaming which you can log an unlimited number of hours on civilian and military aircraft of various types and classes, as well as on a space shuttle. The game has three-dimensional graphics of excellent quality and a very realistic accompanying sound. The landscape of the game is not developed the way we would like, but the planes themselves right down to the smallest parts is detailed amazingly accurate.
Realism of the sound lies in the fact that you hear the plane in different ways depending on where you watch what happens. If you play with headphones at a hefty volume and use the outer camera, the ears grow stuffed up as if you stand by a real plane. In a plane's cabin the engine sounds more muffled, and from the runway it will flow smoothly from one ear to another. In addition, all the gameplay is accompanied by practically unfading dialogue between a pilot and a communicator.
Range of aircraftIn the free version of the game there is available to you only one aircraft - Cessna 172, the four times of day (morning, afternoon, evening and night), one airport in San Francisco and the limited time of the flight. The full version has 15 types of planes more including A-10, Airbus A321, Airbus A380-800, Boeing 717-200, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 787-900, Boeing C -17 Globemaster III, Bombardier CRJ-200, Cirrus SR22 G3 Turbo, F/A-18, P-38, Space Shuttle, Spitfire Mk VIII and Super Decathlon.
In addition, you will be able to take off and land at airports in Charlotte, Oshkosh, Southern California and Sydney. What makes it even more realistic is an opportunity to change the weather. You can set the visibility, direction, speed and gusts of the wind, and also the temperature of the surrounding air. At the beginning of every flight there performs calibrating of an accelerometer, so before you touch the screen the first time you need to take the most comfortable position in order to control the aircraft easier.
Controlling featuresBefore you increase the engine speed it is desirable to apply the brakes, and before your plane takes off you'd better do the flaps down to increase the air resistance and lift capacity of the wings. In fact, you may use an autopilot and customize it the way you want. Autopilot customizing inclides maintaining of the engine speed, direction of flight, automatic take-off and landing of the aircraft.
ResumeIn general, the first task of the simulator is precisely to teach you to take off and land, and what you'll be messing up in the air remains at your discretion. Although the game has an impressive price tag, in the Marketplace it has positive reviews alone. True connoisseurs of flight simulators will be surely pleased with this game.
