Your typical city builder

Cool art design, adheres to the movie
Boring gameplay, too much handholding
If you’re a fan of the movie Hotel Transylvania then you’ll probably enjoy this movie tie-in, Hotel Transyvlania 2. That’s right, ladies and gents, this is the second city, er, hotel builder based on the movie. Is it any better than the first entry? Well, that’s to be determined.
True to form, you’ll start this game out by doing everything the game wants you to in the exact order it wants you to. That means even putting your buildings down in specific spots it tells you to. What’s the point if you can’t even truly decide how to build your own city? That’s arguably what makes city builders so much fun.
Even after you get through the needless tutorial, the game never really lets your hand go because you’ll soon find yourself doing boring and non-interactive quests. The quests sound fun in theory, like asking you to lure people in or find various items, but you actually just assign those tasks to the monsters littered about the hotel. For you, the player, it just surmounts to nothing but chores.
The only real redeeming nature of the game is that you can eventually build your hotel the way that you want to and the art design is really great since it’s all based on the movie. I can’t really think of any other games on the market currently that let you build your own spooky hotel, but I could always be wrong.
Hotel Transylvania 2 for Android is a game that is totally banking on its name alone to lure players to this borefest. The game is otherwise entirely mediocre.
