A pretty trippy endless runner

Great presentation, solid controls, fun gameplay
I’ve had the app crash a few times, very grindy
In Sky for Android you’ll fly, jump and clone yourself as you try to get the highest score you possibly. There are a ton of characters to unlock, each with their own animated trails, and every time you start up a new game you’ll be presented with a completely new experience because each level is randomly generated.
The game itself is fun, somewhat relaxing, but still quite difficult. You’ll start off as a tile that can perform simple single and double jumps. Your tile will automatically slide along a preset path, collecting coins along the way. You’ll frequently see gray tiles pop up that you’ll need to jump over. If you run into these gray tiles then your tile will be destroyed. Gray tiles can come individually, paired, or in groups, hence why you’ll need to use the double jump.
The beginning of every stage is fairly simple if you have a good grasp on how to jump. Things begin to get really tricky when your tile passes through these green huts. Once you pass through, you’ll instantly see yourself being cloned and now you suddenly have to keep track of multiple tiles simultaneously. This is where the game really begins to get difficult.
The coin system is a little bit inflated because you will literally pick up two or three coins every second while you’re alive. This means that netting 100 coins can easily be done in one run, so the developers needed to up the ante when it came to how many coins you need to get to unlock a new reward. We’ll they decided that 5000 coins was a good number, so now unlocking them feels way more like a grind that it really should.
Despite the fact that Sky can feel a bit grindy at times, it’s still fun. Even when I found myself repeatedly dying, I never really felt frustrated with the game. Every death felt like it was my own fault. If you’re a fan of endless runner then you should definitely check this one out.
