Review Smart Launcher

Jay Feldman
Interesting functionality, nice interface, modern design
Functions slowly, lags a bit
Smart Launcher for Android is an easy to use and visually pleasing launcher with convenient quick links that function smoothly.
Smart Launcher is a shining example of how a minimalist approach can still be powerful and intuitive. The app’s main screen features an ‘app flower’ which is just a pleasing way of saying there’s a circular ring of quick launch icons for your most commonly used apps. When the app starts for the first time, it will ask you to select your favorite gallery and email apps, so they can automatically be added to the app flower. Just tap any of the icons to open their corresponding app.
The lock screen has a nice large clock with easy to read fonts. Everything looks inviting and stylish. I loved the app drawers, and how all your apps are automatically categorized into common categories; games, internet, utility, settings communication and media. Just tap the categories to see all the apps available on your gizmo. This is particularly useful if you have a lot of apps installed as it streamlines the process of finding what you're looking for.
The app functions well, but I did experience hangs and load issues within some of the categories as they were populated. The app is accessing the internet at times, so connectivity will play a part in the performance. But once you get things tweaked to your liking, there should be little reason to experience these buffering issues again.
The presentation is nice and feels modern. I enjoyed the color scheme and found it to be pleasing to the eye. There’s also an array of paid and free themes available so you can tweak the look of everything to your liking.
Smart Launcher is a highly functional launcher with some interesting features that I haven’t seen elsewhere. The buffering issues on setup give me reason for concern, but overall, this is a rock solid experience.
