Neat graphics, interesting plot, interesting game play
Kills your battery, challenging controls, animation is a bit laggy
Tiki Kart 3D for Android offers a tribal twist on classic car racing games. It’s visually interesting, though perhaps a little unrefined.
Tiki Kart 3D is fun and kids will love all the colorful graphics and exciting visuals. The app takes your basic car racing game and places it in a tribal, paradise island type of environment. Like any racing game, the objective is to go fast and not go boom. You can race alone or against live, online opponents. The speed is good and the play isn't overly difficult, making it perfect for anyone who just wants to race and go fast without worrying a lot about intricacies.
I loved that you're racing in Fred Flintstone style caveman carts. I also loved all the different tracks and the interesting graphics. There are speed pads, and if you drive over them, you get a sudden jolt of octane. There’s also some power-ups and weapons that keep things interesting. The online play was relatively smooth, but I did experience hangs and glitches.
The sounds are entertaining and playfully appropriate. But the menus were underdeveloped and a bit shoddy in presentation; nothing terrible, just not very modern. The controls are decent for the most part. There are several different steering options, the worst of which being the tilt controls. Generally, the steering is a little too sensitive and overly sporadic, but then, sometimes crashing is as fun as racing.
Tiki Kart 3D is a decent racing game that’s ideal for kids. Seasoned racers will appreciate the unique graphics and overall feeling of speed. This one is pretty good, but could use some further development.
