Review Angry Chicken: Egg Madness!
An odd arcade game that left me scratching my head

Solid controls, features multiple control schemes
Subject matter is terribly uninteresting, gameplay structure is unclear, boring gameplay
Have you ever wanted to frantically catch eggs as they’re being lobbed at the ground by an angry chicken? Me either, but there is a game about it nonetheless. Angry Chicken: Egg Madness for Android has everything you need to know about the game right in the title.
You never really find out why the chicken is angry, why he’s throwing eggs around, or why he’s got such well developed pectorals but I guess none of that really matters in the long run. All you need to know is that you need to catch the eggs and avoid the bombs he’s chunking down.
You’ll do this by pressing on-screen buttons that make the basket slide from left to right. There are more than just regular eggs to catch, though. You’ve also got bombs you’ll need to avoid and special eggs that do things like doubling points, slowing the angry chicken down and more.
The biggest discrepancy I found with the app is its failure to communicate what you’re actually doing. There were times when my runs lasted less than 15 seconds and other times where they went on for closer to a minute but there was never any noticeable reason as to what might affect the length of a run. Both times I was able to collect all the eggs up until the abrupt end and I never got hit by a bomb.
To be honest, I just never really found myself having any fun with Angry Chicken: Egg Madness. Angry chickens really aren’t that exciting and neither is catching eggs in a basket. Couple that with the silly art design and the fact that there are no other game modes or progression paths and you’ve got a game that is dead in the water.
