A tutorial simulator

Short timers, decent interface
Boring gameplay, ludicrous tutorial, so many loading screens
War Kingdoms Strategy Game RTS for Android is a title full of search engine optimization terms, and if the philosophy behind that bothers you then so will a lot of other design choices the game presents. It touts itself as a real time strategy game, but it’s pretty much anything but that. It’s one of those flash games you used to play on Facebook that required you to build units you never saw, to fight battles that had no visual representation, and manage a city that never seemed to look any different.
In essence, this is literally the perfect mobile strategy game because it requires almost no thought since the entire game literally plays itself. As the player, you’ll manage a city that is already built. There are building that correspond with things like military, research, defense, etc. Most of your time will be spent in menu, but the game urges you to go through the tutorial first.
The tutorial is presented to the player through a seemingly endless series of tasks. The list of tasks are so long that you’ll likely be spending days, if not weeks, trying to progress through them while you wait for things like 100 farmers being produced. Seriously. When it gets to the point that you’re creating hundreds of units at a time then you can really stop holding the player’s hand. Technically you could ignore the tasks, but it will always be blinking at you while you play the game.
Honestly, I found gameplay to be really boring. You’ll acquire resources automatically, and getting into battles is as simple as allocating troops to a place and telling them to go fight. There is nothing to watch, and nothing to control. So, you’ll see the results in a menu that’s kind of hidden away. Speaking of menus, it seems like the game has to stop and load something every time you get into a new menu, which just seems absurd since the game is pretty much all text based.
I’m sure there is someone out there who will enjoy War Kingdoms Strategy Game RTS, but not me. The game is just bad. There is nothing intrinsically fun, and simply navigating through menus is much more of a chore than it needs to be.
