Lots of settings, interesting functionality, nice interface
Not powerful enough, needs to be elaborated, lags a bit
There's so many video editing apps out there that it's hard to choose one over the other. The good news is, KineMaster – Pro Video Editor for Android makes the process of selecting a quality video app a bit easier to make. The interface is innovative and wholly functional, placing a timeline view of your clips and transitions horizontally on the lower portion of your screen, with a nice, large video preview window above that, justified to the left side of your screen. To the right of the video preview is a circular menu that's designed to look like and old school VCR dial. The dial has icons for record, music, effects and importing existing pics and vids from your camera roll.
Once you have a video you'd like to work with, it's time to add some effects and transitions. Naturally, you can string together several source clips, or just trim down a longer clip into a more dynamic presentation by cutting it down and piecing everything together in a more cohesive fashion. I was particularly fond of the different effects, which are presented as themes the app comes with 4 themes installed and there's literally dozens more to download, all of which appear to be free.
Finished compositions rendered fairly quickly, but naturally, this will depend on how many videos and transitions are used, along with the total running time of your entire video.
KineMaster – Pro Video Editor is pretty cool, but there's still room for improvement. The interface comes off a bit unrefined and like it needs some polish, but overall, this is a solid app.
