Review My Friend Scooby-Doo!

Jay Feldman
Neat graphics, decent game play, simple controls
Too easy, very common, bores you really quickly
My Friend Scooby-Doo! for Android is a goofy game that reminds me of my childhood days of watching cartoons on Saturday morning. For others, it triggers memories of bongs, roach clips and the munchies. Either way, this one is fun if you're a fan of the Scoob. The play is essentially a sim based game where Scooby is your virtual pet. So you make him do tricks like, shake a paw, roll over, put on a costume and fight evil ghosts. Okay, so not every dog can do the last two, but that's what makes Scooby special.
The game takes place in on outdoor compound that's just across the lake from a skull rock formation where ghosts occasionally roam. If you even come too close to the shores opposite that mansion, those ghosts will come your way and you gotta poke the screen to get rid of them before they get to Scooby. Then there's a pup tent, naturally, with some sort of critter inside that takes swipes at Scoob when he walks past. There's also a treasure chest filled with costumes Scoob likes to try on. Just run from one station to the next, completing tasks that are presented to you in text form.
The graphics are very much an extension of this classic cartoon, as are the comical sounds. The play isn't all that dynamic, however, it is mildly entertaining for a little while.
My Friend Scooby-Doo! is decent fun for what it is, and there's plenty to see and do, though admittedly, a lot of it feels repetitive.
