Quality graphics, decent game play, responsive controls
Very common, bores you really quickly, animation is a bit laggy
If you throw a stick, you'll hit a zombie app, and today, my stick hit Call Of Battlefield:Online FPS for Android. There's virtually nothing that sets this game apart from the rest, however, the play is engaging and modestly entertaining, for another mindless retread zombie app.
As the story goes, there's no story to be found, just a bunch of ravenous zombies out to make you their midnight snack. Basically, you're playing as a military commando type, and for one reason or another, the world has become overrun with zombies ...again. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Anyway, your commando avatar is plopped into the middle of a desolate location, and naturally, your mission is to blast the crap out of a bunch of zombies that come at you in droves. There's lots of different locations to unlock and try, but it's always the same basic premise, just with different set dressing.
The game unfolds from your commando's point of view, and yes, it's kind of unnerving when those zombies come at you, swiping their deformed digits gnawing on your bones like they're trying to suck out all the juicy marrow. The controls use an effective pan and scan control to view the environment in a full, 360 degrees. The best part of the controls, is you can shoot and scan the environment at the same time by just dragging your finger onscreen. But be careful, because you can run out of bullets and will need to pick up some med kits to revive your health. The graphics are effectively gruesome and gave me the creeps.
So far as endless zombie shooters go, Call Of Battlefield:Online FPS is decent enough, but the app still comes off a tad crude and unrefined.
