Decent animation, unusual game design, quality graphics, lots of levels, two-finger controls
No significant shortcomings
Dunky Dough Ball for Android is a unique game of timing and quirky bounce. Your aim is to guide a grinning ball of the weirdest dough you've ever seen into a bowl. There are lakes of magma that burn you to a crisp and blue colored bumpers that bounce you around. But the way you move turns out to be highly unpredictable, and actually pretty hard to understand at times.
There are simple left right buttons for guiding the ball, and it seems like it should be real easy to master, but it trips you up. I think I've figured it out though: when you hit surfaces from a greater distance, you bounce off them further in a way that doesn't follow conventional physics. You have to be really tender with the buttons, to just swerve through things, and grab opportunities as you see them. Because you can't rely on bouncing back exactly the same way again.
It's a cool game, but you have to run with it, and not get too frustrated by the way it's so hard to predict the ball's movement. There are loads of levels to keep you busy for ages. The ads are really minimalist. There's some energy system, but I didn't find it limiting. All in all, this is a great little game, sure to infuriate many talented gamers
