Riff for Android is kind of similar to Vine videos, with the only real difference being that your friends can add new sequences to your clip and everything is submitted as one complete video. Hence the modest play on words here; you're riffing with friends and using mobile video cams as your instruments. So go ahead, and make beautiful music together.

Riff really doesn't do much of anything. Truthfully, the interface is rather dry and old school, presenting little more than a vertically scrolling interface, populated with video thumbnails. As you scroll through the list, videos that take center position onscreen begin to play automatically, provided they aren't buffering and lagging first. The videos themselves are of nice quality, and play smoothly after the initial load. The videos are intended to be short but a few can be a tad longer. Some people shoot several videos in a series with a common thematic thread. These videos can be watched by swiping laterally through the collection, one video at a time. The storyline and similarities of which are often comical.

The app itself really doesn't do much of anything. There's a menu icon on the top right that opens a modest help center containing simple faq's, report a problem, rate us and privacy policy type stuff. You can give videos you like one of three smilies, ranging from happy, to not all that amused. You can also be a tattle tale and report inappropriate videos.

Riff is decent fun if you love social networking and modestly funny videos. It's decent, not great.
