Quality graphics, interesting plot, responsive controls
Very common, bores you really quickly, animation is a bit laggy
RPG IZANAGI ONLINE MMORPG is easier to play then it is to pronounce. This one is basically a fantasy combat game that plops your brave ninja hero in the middle of an enchanted forest you are meant to explore. The landscape is of high quality, with plenty of nooks and crannies to discover. And once you do come upon an enemy, it's a go for broke sort of combat game, pitting you against an array of hulking monstrosities that you must defeat in mano a mano style brawls. You can deck out your hero in Forbidden Warrior style armor, and there's an arrow just ahead of you as you run, denoting where your next fight can be found.
The controls are quite elaborate, placing a virtual joystick on the lower left, and an innovative spinning wheel that's seen in semi-circle and contains all of your various attack styles and abilities. There's also a quality pan and scan control that allows for 360 degree views of your surroundings. The graphics look like CGI realism, with lots of nice details, but a crude and unfinished look to them all if you look closely. The animation is good for the most part, but does suffer from frequent lags and stutters. The sounds are flat out annoying most of the time, and I just muted them all together.
RPG IZANAGI ONLINE MMORPG doesn't offer much new or novel in play, outside the innovative right side attack controls. Other than that, it's fairly pat and dry, though I think diehards of the genre will love it all the same.
