Review Yo Monsters FREE PUZZLE GAME!
A very casual matching puzzle game

Charming and colorful aesthetic, easy difficulty, kid friendly
Gameplay feels a little too generic
Games like Yo Monsters for Android kind of feel like the next logical progression from your typical match three puzzle games, but the cool thing about both is they can each have their own place. Here, rather than matching simple tiles inside of various shaped grids, we’re actually drawing lines through colored monsters to form huge changes. Awesome combos are the name of the game.
So, while the concept might be the same, the actual execution between this and something like Candy Crush are different. Given the hexagonal nature of the way monsters are arranged, we can chain larges lines together vertically, horizontally, and even diagonally.
Unfortunately, this game specifically borrows ideas from other games and simply puts its own little visual spin on them. There is an incredibly easy scoring system that will give you three stars as long as you beat the level in time and the more advanced mechanics are slowly introduced over a long time. You can definitely tell this is a game that is supposed to cater to younger children, which is totally fine.
Overall, if you’re a fan of games like this then chances are you’ve already played one that does everything Yo Monsters does plus more. It’s not that the game is bad, it’s actually mechanically sound. The issue for adults is that it’s a game that feels very much tuned to a younger audience, so you won’t really be getting anything out of it. On the other hand, if you’re doing some research for your child then I’d say this is a great game to download for them because it’s very kid friendly and easy to learn.
