Review Project Parkour

Neat graphics, lots of levels, exciting game play, quality physics
Inconvenient controls, features ads
Project Parkour for Android is a fun 3D parkour game that has been clearly inspired by the popular Mirror's Edge. The game itself has plenty of levels to keep players entertained, but there a few shortfalls that stop it from becoming a true masterpiece.
Firstly, this game does feature some pretty fun game mechanics. You are given a bunch of levels to play through. On each level you must use parkour skills to collect different checkpoint tokens before finding your way to the finish. You'll be able to use running, jumping and crouching to make your way over and under different objects. As you are running, you'll often be high above the ground. Jumping across objects at a high height can definitely be quite exhilarating, that's for sure.
The graphics in this game are very simple, but fans of Mirrors Edge should enjoy them. All of the objects in this game are very simple 3D shapes and are either colored red or white. The red objects have been highlighted over the other objects because these ones are often needed as part of the parkour course.
The interface isn't the best out there, and it's obvious that not much effort has gone into making it look high quality or well polished. With that being said, the UI and control buttons do work, and everything is pretty impressive on a functional level. There is however one area that isn't so smooth, and that is the controls. Whilst there are plenty of responsive buttons in this game, a lot of the parkour jumps and tricks take a lot of precision, and this is incredibly hard to do with a touchscreen based joystick. I'm not so sure if the control problem is an issue the developer can fix or if it's just the result of the lack of accuracy found within touchscreen controls.
Besides the not-so-accurate control system, Project Parkour is a very fun game and there are plenty of levels for you to run and jump through.
