Quality game design, neat graphics, simple controls
Difficult to understand, uses a lot of system resources, animation is a bit laggy
Kingdoms Hustle for Android is a dynamic RPG combat adventure with cool graphics and elaborate play. Pit your cards against the enemy and see who comes out victorious. This one is fairly predictable and sticks close to the genre's format, but features some dynamic mechanics to keep things interesting.
Kingdoms Hustle displays in portrait to reveal a fantasy card RPG that splits your screen in two along the center; your cards appear on the bottom half, while your opponent's appear on the top. There's also a short menu of icons along the very bottom of your screen with selections like, pass, auto, and result, so you can literally just put the game on autopilot and let it unfold on its own while you just enjoy the show. The play is nuanced, with lots of unique rules, so you'd do well to pay attention to the tutorial and learn the ropes. There’s also an interactive plot that unfolds via text and character icons, delivering a modest plot between battles.
The controls use taps and slides to draw and play your various cards. The graphics are quite nice, with interesting heroes and enemy cards to admire, with a host of unique abilities and statistics for each one. The animation features a dynamic presentation of cards in play, with some decent burst effects and visual stimuli. The sounds are perhaps the weakest element here, offering a highly repetitive score that gets old fast.
Kingdoms Hustle is a quality RPG card game, though will be appreciated most by diehards of the genre.
