Neat graphics, interesting plot, addictive game play, simple controls
Terra Monsters 2 for Android is a Pokémon inspired game that puts players in a fantasy world. At it's heart this game is a JRPG with an emphasis on building your own team of monsters that can level up and evolve as the game progresses. The game features a decent story and a very detailed world.
Since the first game in the franchise, Terra Monsters has evolved to become an even larger living, breathing world. You will be able to explore the world and talk to different inhabitants as they explore it too. In a similar fashion to Pokémon, if you cross eyes with another fighter, you will be forced to fight him or her.
The fighting in this game is the perfect example of a traditional JRPG, even more so than Pokémon. You will be shown your team of monsters on the left side, and on the right will be the enemies. Each turn you will be able to choose the attacks of all of your monsters, and the enemy will then respond. Fighting is turn based, and you can use your turn to heal or apply different potions or status effects. Whilst having a powerful monster lineup is important, a lot of the strategy is based around having a strong set of tactics and strategies that you can pull out against tough enemies.
Whilst fighting you will be able to explore the world of Afer. You will follow a story that takes your character on a mission to stop evil forces from destroying Afer. The artwork for the world, the characters and all of the monsters is very impressive. Whilst some monsters may have been inspired by other games, a lot of thought and creativity went in to creating this world.
Terra Monsters 2 is completely free to play, but there are some elements of the game that require in-app purchases to use properly.
