As match three games have become more and more popular, it was only a matter of time before we began to see them with every theme imaginable. Pirate Treasures for Android delivers just that; a bright and colorful game that will hook most players with its addictive play style inspired by Candy Crush and other like it.
In this pirate themed game players are required to swap adjacent gems and match three of a kind. The goal is to clear the crystals that have a skull painted on them in a limited number of moves by matching the color of the skull marked crystal with other similar colored crystals. As expected, puzzles become increasingly difficult over the course of the game, with levels becoming more and more complex, and the numbers of skulls that need to be destroyed increasing. Another objective that the player will have to contend with is the collection of barrels, which most likely contain rum (we are in a pirate game after all), by having them reach the bottom of the puzzle.
An abundance of power-ups are available by matching more than three gems. For example, matching four crystals will create a lighting crystal that can be used in another combination, resulting in an explosion that will destroy crystals. Matching five crystals will create a star which can be swapped with adjacent crystals and will destroy all the colored crystals from the whole grid with the selected color. Additional powers will be unlocked with progression and range from a hammer that breaks any gem chosen by the player to a whirlwind that will shuffle the gems in the whole grid.
Pirate Treasures is a cute and addictive game with lots of fun to offer and an enjoyable combination of sound and environment to keep the user entertained.
