The tower defense genre features perhaps some of the most well known mobile games out today, but we're still seeing dozens of new games in the genre each month. Beast Towers for Android is yet another tower defense game, but there's something about it that feels fresh and exciting.
First things first, this game is a tower defense, so you can expect the same kind of gameplay you've seen everywhere else. On each level, you'll need to lay down towers, blocks and other tools to stop waves of enemies from reaching the other end of the level. Each wave becomes progressively more difficult, and you'll need to invest the coins you earn from killing previous waves into new towers and better block layouts.
There are usually two strategic elements that are important in tower defense games. The first is block placement - you need to create a "maze" or layout that keeps the waves of enemies as close to your towers for as long as possible. The second is tower selection, and this is something that most games don't seem to delve too much into. In this game, choosing the right towers to counter the different enemy types is incredibly important if you want to win. You really need to think carefully about what towers to use and also where to place them. There are also plenty of opportunities to morph your towers into even stronger versions. There are a total of 40 different towers to unlock, so you can see why i'm so impressed with this game.
Another really neat thing about this game are the great graphics. The entire game has a very eerie feel to it which has been illustrated with detailed 3D graphics and advanced lighting effects. On top of the great graphics, the game comes with really high quality sound effects for the enemies and towers, and there's even a little background story to follow.
There is a free version of Beast Towers with limited features, and a full version that includes all content and is free from in-app purchases and advertisements.
