Quality graphics, interesting plot, simple controls
Too easy, very common, low quality animation
Grim Legends 2 for Android is a tried and true hidden objects game that's sure to enthrall diehard fans of the genre. Save a young queen from untold danger by finding and combining objects and following this modest, text driven plot. This one is decent but offers little inspiration to get excited about.
Grim Legends 2 unfolds much like most every other hidden objects game. You are presented with a modest, text based plot to read through, with wooden dialog and stilted writing. These text based vignettes are held together by standard hidden objects play that has you searching various rooms to this enchanted castle. Each room offers a different hidden objects scene to explore. Sometimes you're finding objects off a list, other times you combine objects to make new ones, which can then be used in one fashion or another to drive the thin plot forward. It's all very simplistic, and always telegraphs where the plot is going, to the point of being obvious. The play is solid, just not all that interesting, and the writing is very pedestrian.
The controls use screen taps and slides to find objects, advance from room to room and complete single screened mini games. The graphics are this game's strongest element by far, offering interesting locales and visuals with lots of nice details to enjoy. The animation is basic motion tracking on still images and nothing all that special or inviting. The sounds are pretty good, but the game could just as easily be muted without impacting the play.
Grim Legends 2 is decent for what it is, but all of these games kind of blend together after a while. However, if you're a true fan of the genre, then this is another worthy installment to play.
