Decent plot, decent graphics, simple controls
Too easy, bores you really quickly, low quality animation
Me Girl Celebs for Android is a silly game about going to Hollywood and becoming a famous movie star. The play offers an interactive plot that responds to the choices you make. This one is sure to be a hit with anyone who dreams of making it big, which is pretty much everyone here in L.A., L.A., land.
Me Girl Celebs displays in portrait, and as the story goes, you're a newbie to the movie business, and when the director of a big budget movie happens to injure himself, they do the only logical thing, and hire you to direct a 100 million dollar movie, cuz that's exactly what would happen in real life. This is the type of game that perpetuates ridiculous stereotypes of being discovered and landing the posh life of the rich and famous, just because you're so special and everyone in the movie business would be lost without you. The play comes off like a soap opera melodrama, where you cast actors, rehearse scenes and follow a cringe worthy romance plot. The story is so stupid that it probably could come true.
The controls are basic screen taps to make selections, navigate menus and trigger modest actions. The graphics go for CGI realism, with mannequin looking characters that are easily upstaged by the quality backdrops and locations. The animation is rudimentary, with lots of silly posturing and posing by the barely humanoid characters. The sounds are sweeping and befitting of a game about big dreams and fantasies that come true.
Me Girl Celebs is crude and needs work, and the stilted dialog could be better, yet something about this one still grabbed me and held interest. This one is worth checking out if you're into canned melodramas and miss your daily soaps.
