High-quality widget, powerful functionality, lots of settings

Lunar Phase for Android gives you loads of information about what stage the moon is in, where it is in the sky right now, and what kind of moon you can expect to see in the near future. Whether you are just fascinated by the science astronomy, or you want to plan a romantic night under a full moon; or you are just a bit worried about werewolves; this app has you covered, and more.
It comes with a widget which is, helpfully, just an icon of the moon in its current phase. You can directly resize this, so you can have it occupy just one tile, 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4. Or if you really love it, you could have lots of moons in different sizes - though you can't adjust their individual map locations (they'll all show the moon for your current location).
The app will tell the name of the phase, the time it will rise and set, and how far away it is (402,780 km as I write). You also have: a moon calendar for planning ahead, a neat 2D view of where the moon earth and sun are in relation to each other (so you can see how the shadows are being cast), a view of where the moon and sun are on their respective arcs on google maps, a compass with the moon and sun, a diagram of how they will be rising and setting in relation to each other, and a "sky view" where you can line up your device to find the moon.
You can see these tools as a mosaic, full screen, or embedded with the other information. Great little tool, if you want to know what the moon is doing.
