Lots of depth to the combat system, tons of puzzles, great looking animation
Graphics are low fidelity, equipment is hard to come by
Dungeon & Puzzle for Android is a great RPG with a match-three combat mechanic that really sticks out. First off, it’s an RPG without the same boring combat system you’ve seen a million times in the genre. Secondly, it’s a match-three game that has more meat to it than just the mechanic alone.
Now, this isn’t a game that’s going to win any awards for its storytelling. There are some pretty mean dragons that have taken over the world and you play as the hero that is going around solving puzzles and defeating their minions so you can eventually take them down too.
You’ll fight using match-three mechanics. Each piece on the board will correspond to a different weapon that you’ll need to take down mobs. Sometimes mobs will have identifiers which is a way for you to see which weapons will be really effective on them and which ones will be useless. Mechanics like these are exactly what I want when I play a good match-three game. It’s a great mechanic but we often see gameplay too dumbed down to really be that enjoyable.
As you play through the game you’ll progress through different environments, fight different enemies, find loot, and acquire pets that will help boost your stats.
Dungeon & Puzzle has over 400 levels for you to complete, over a hundred enemies, and several bosses to play through. It’s got a decently complicated combat system, and enough charm to knock your socks off.
