Wordathon: Classic Word Game for Android is a word search puzzle game that will keep the user entertained for quite some time, showing that we don’t need some over complicated app to have fun and while we’re at it, why not learn some new words and improve our vocabulary.
The goal is to find as many words as you can in a time span of 5 minutes. We are presented with a grid of cubes with letters inside each cube. Starting from one of them the user can tap and drag in any, direction, vertically, diagonally, horizontally or in a zig-zag motion until a word is found. Each word will contribute to the final score and at the end of the round players will find some neat information about your run like your words per second ratio and many more. There are four different types of grids to choose from that will alter the game and spice things up.
Common and obscure words can be discovered while playing and they will be listed on the lower side of the screen alphabetically from left-top to right bottom (That’s right, the game is smart and educational). After the round is done you can hold on the words that were found or even undiscovered ones to find out their meaning (requires an internet connection).
Wordathon: Classic Word Game is stylish, educational and catchy game designed to incorporate intelligence into its gameplay and break away from the norm. There are some subtle giveaways that the user may catch and exploit to easily overcome the game’s challenges, but I will not list them so as not to spoil the fun.
