Interesting functionality, simple interface, minimalist design
Limited features, weak functionality, lags a bit
#SquareDroid — No crop! for Android aims to make your photos Instagram ready, without any cropping.... sort of. Easily add color bars to the top or sides of any photo, thus making it Instagram ready with no cropping. It works, it's just not necessarily elegant.
#SquareDroid — No crop! displays in portrait and landscape while accessing the main menu or snapping off a new picture, but when it comes time to work with your photos, it's portrait all the way, baby. You can either select and existing picture off your camera roll, or take a whole new one. From there, it's off to the modest photo editing interface, where you can rotate your image as needed, and select what kind of background or color you'd like for the columns added to your photo in order to keep it square. Landscape photos add columns to the top and bottom of your widescreen image, while portrait orientated photos add columns to the left and right sides of your image. The added columns can be a solid color, a blur effect that duplicates a portion of your original photo, or a color gradient.
The app functions well enough for what little it does, but the push ads to impact performance some. If you decide you like the app, there's a pro version for a nominal fee that removes the ads. Once you've made the few modest tweaks available, you can save, share, and post to Instagram in the usual ways.
#SquareDroid — No crop! doesn't do much, but it functions just fine. I think they should have added a few more filter options to make the app more useful.
