A great puzzle game companion

Offers several different modes, gameplay variation keeps the game interesting, it offers a very casual puzzle experience
The visual design is heavily borrowed from Tetris, puzzles might seem a bit too easy for some players
So, go ahead and spend about a fraction of a second looking at the game and tell me what you think this game is about. If your first answer is Tetris then you’d be among the majority but you’d also be wrong. Block Puzzle King for Android is a game that heavily borrows visual elements from Tetris but offers a completely different type of game.
The first thing that popped out at me when I booted up the game was just how many gameplay modes there are. This isn’t something I’m used to seeing when it seems most games are simply boiled down to one mechanic.
Regardless of which mode you play, the core concept is the same. You’re presented with a shell of a shape and you’ve got multiple “puzzle” pieces that you need to cobble together in order to fit inside the hollow shape. The game modes provide you with different stipulations on how to accomplish this. Classic mode, for instance, is just the core gameplay. Double mode gives you to shapes to complete at the same time. Spin mode lets you spin the pieces. And the list just goes on and on.
What I liked the most about this game was the simplicity of it. The puzzles required thought but not a frustrating amount of it. The last thing I want is the game I’m playing to take my mind off of whatever it is I’m currently doing to frustrate me. I also like that the game offers so many variations on the gameplay. So rather than the game just getting more and more difficult, it just throws more ways to play at you.
Block Puzzle King is probably the perfect companion puzzle game for anywhere you need to spend periods of time waiting.
