A funny endless runner

Neat graphics, lots of levels, exciting game play, simple controls
Someone is late to the office... again! If he doesn't hurry up, he might just get fired. In Late Again for Android, you'll need to run to your office as quickly as possible. There are plenty of office drawers and desks in the way, so you'll have to dodge these otherwise you'll be in big trouble!
This game feature your typical endless runner gameplay. You can swipe left and right to move between the different lanes on the screen, and swiping up and down will make you jump and slide respectively. The aim of this game is to complete each level by dodging obstacles and reaching the end goal. As you play, you can pick up notes, office supplies and puzzle pieces for extra points. Whilst the office supplies and your score are just optional extras, you will need to collect four puzzle pieces on each level to progress to the next stage.
Levels do start to get quite complex as you keep playing, and this is one reason why I like this game over many other endless runners. The level-based system allows you to see some of the more challenging elements of the game, without having to run 10,000 miles to get there first. The game is also more forgiving than most endless runners. Whilst this doesn't apply for all obstacles, it is possible to hit into some objects, such as bins, and continue running. You will, however, be slowed down, and if you get slowed down too much, you'll fall to the ground and the game will be over.
I quite like the cartoonized 3D graphics the developer's have opted for. It could have been a little more impressive, but I'd prefer colorful flashy graphics that run smoothly like these, than high quality graphics that can cause your game to lag.
Late Again is free to download, but you can use in-app purchases to buy different power-ups.

Decent animation, interesting graphics, decent game play, simple controls
Late Again for Android is an endless runner with a story I can readily identify with: running into work/school as fast as you can, because you're late. Again. You play this college kid / office intern with messy hair, running through level after level of corridors; avoiding obstacles and collecting goodies. It's pretty straightforward; though I still can't decide whether the character is an office intern or a college kid? Both make sense, anyhow.
The controls are standard fare. Swipe left and right to switch between the three lanes. Swipe up to jump over obstacles, and down to slide under them. There are some cool additions, like trampolines you can bounce off. Obstacles you need to avoid include trashcans, whiteboards and filing cabinets. Meanwhile you'll be collecting post-it notes and jigsaw pieces.
It's rather easy to run into something, and you are then prompted to keep running by using an energy drink. But it's not all that tempting, because you only need to collect 4 jigsaw pieces to advance to the next level, and you don't need to get them all in one run. So you can just restart until you’ve collected enough to progress.
Late Again is enjoyable, but I didn't find it that addictive. Maybe it just hit a bit too close to home!
