Neat animation, neat graphics, simple controls
Gold Miner Adventure for Android is an interesting game with a unique concept, but the game fails to deliver fun, lasting gameplay. In this game, you must try to reel in as much gold as you can within a 1 minute time period.
You could shout "Eureka!" about the execution of the gameplay mechanics in this game, but when it comes to fun, you'll find that the game really hasn't struck gold. The gameplay is simple - you will have a claw that rotates automatically. Below the claw will be a collection of different items, including gold, diamonds, rocks and chests. By tapping, your claw will extend and if anything intercepts it's path of movement, it will pick the item up and bring it back to the surface.
The aim of this game is to collect as many items as possible within a short time period. You are given a cash goal that must be met before the time runs out, and each item will have a different cash value. After the round ends, you will be taken to a store where you can purchase power-ups. Power-ups can speed up claw movement, increase the value of items, or produce other effects. The down side is these power-ups will eat into your cash pile, making it harder for you to reach your cash goal on the next level.
The trouble lies in the cash goal. If you don't buy power ups, you'll easily be able to get by the next 10 levels by casually tapping away at the screen. Once it becomes slightly harder to reach your cash goal, you'll most likely be bored of the game, as there is only a single level and a very limited amount of player control.
Gold Miner Adventure is free to play, and there are no in-app purchases, so there's no reason not to give it a try. With that being said, the game is lacking a little, and you may find yourself becoming bored rather quickly.
