Neat graphics, lots of levels, addictive game play, simple controls
The plot for many popular games and classic movies involves some sort of princess who needs to be rescued, but in Day of the Viking for Android you are finally given the chance to catch the princesses' captors red handed. In this game, you will need to defend your tower as waves of vikings attack.
There is a bit of a story behind this game. Narrated by the princess, the concept of the game and the story behind why the Vikings are trying to break into her castle are explained. All that matters to you though is that the Vikings are trying to break in, and you've been instructed to protect it.
To protect the castle you'll need to use a variety of troops in the castle armed with projectiles. To begin with, you'll have two archers that can fire arrows at incoming Vikings. As the game progresses, you'll be able to unlock or buy new projectiles, such as catapults or more archers. You can spend money earned from killing Vikings on upgrading each troop type as well, and this will be needed because the vikings will continue to get stronger.
You'll be able to play across multiple different levels and environments, and the flow of gameplay will change slightly depending on what area you are in. For example, if you play on top of a hill, you will be able to use catapults to roll boulders down the hill towards the incoming Vikings. On other levels, there may be hills that block out archer fire, so you'll need to fire quickly as they come over a hill.
Day of the Viking is free to play, but there are in-app purchases that allow players to level up their defenses quicker.
