Banana Island – Bobo's Epic Tale for Android is a platformer game that features dozens of levels across various different environments. The game is based upon other titles within the same franchise, and it has been perfected to offer players one of the best mobile platforming experiences you'll be able to find.
On each level, you will need to reach the end by dodging enemies and jumping over gaps in the world and various other dangerous areas such as spike pits or traps. As you play, you can pick up coins which can be spent later on for cosmetic items and in-game upgrades. There is only a single tiered currency system, so everything can be unlocked with coins earned from within the game.
In fact, there are no in-app purchases in this game whatsoever, so you'll be able to play through the entire game without spending a penny. Despite this, the game feels as fulfilled as ever, and you'll often wonder why the developers were so bananas to put up such a great game for free. Whilst it may not be good enough to rival classic platformers like Mario, there's no denying that it's one of the better mobile exclusive platformers released in recent years.
Levels are very varied, so you'll always feel challenged and there's rarely a dull moment. Thanks to the shop that can be accessed from the menu, there are also always things to work towards or unlock. This sense of progression is coupled with the stage select screen that showcases your in-game progress.
In summary, Banana Island – Bobo's Epic Tale is a great 2D sidescrolling platformer game and there are plenty of reasons for you to pick it up.
