Dry and dull hidden objects play

Interesting graphics, interesting plot, decent game play
Too easy, very common, boring game play
League of Light: Dark Omens for Android is a fairly cookie cutter hidden objects game with modest intrigue and nary a shred of inspiration to be found. Scan various rooms and locales in search of hidden objects and clues that uncover the greater mystery to be solved. This one’s best suited to diehard fans of the genre.
League of Light: Dark Omens displays in landscape to reveal a tried and true hidden objects game. Like all the others from this developer, there's been a murder, and naturally, you're the only one who can solve it. To do that, you will be presented with a series of single screen scenes to explore. There's characters you can speak with, or rather, read dialog as it is presented, then it's off to find all the objects on your list, which appears at the bottom of your screen. You can try just tapping everything to see if you can find stuff by accident, but that strategy will only get you so far, because the app will halt the play if you tap too often and too fast. There's some modest mini games to enjoy along the way, designed to drive the plot forward and keep you from nodding off out of boredom.
The controls use basic screen taps, and functioned as expected. The graphics are always the strongest element for games like this, and these feature some nice details and intriguing imagery. The animation is little more than motion tracking on still images, with the occasional flashy burst of pixels just to check your pulse. The sounds offer little to the play, one way or another.
League of Light: Dark Omens is only modestly entertaining and feels rather old and stale. Fans of the genre will love this one most.
