Cannon Defense for Android is a fun arcade game that features very straight forward gameplay that's easy to pick up but very hard to master. In this game you must fire bullets out of your cannon at incoming asteroids in an attempt to push them off of the screen.
In this game, asteroids will continuously be thrown onto the screen and you will need to shoot them out of the way. The only way for the game to end is if an asteroid hits the floor. Each time you shoot an asteroid, it will react accordingly, and smaller asteroids will be effected by bullets a lot more significantly than larger ones. You must time shots perfectly so that the asteroids your are shooting at are pushed out of the screen before other asteroids have the chance to get past your line of fire.
As more asteroids pile onto your game, things start to get increasingly difficult. You will have to quickly decide which asteroid to shoot at, and if you miss you will have a very small amount of time to readjust before the asteroids hit the floor. Each time you do successfully knock an asteroid off of the screen with your cannon, you will be awarded with some points.
Unfortunately, this game does become a little boring after a while - there are no extra game modes, and there isn't anything to work towards, besides from earning a better highscore. With that being said, the game certainly looks quite nice and the interface has been well laid out. The in-game background music also stands out as being quite catchy, and the game would certainly be a lot more boring without it.
Cannon Defense is completely free to play, but there are a lot of pop-up ads that can occasionally interrupt gameplay.
