Control needs to get used to
Pocket Squadron for Android is a fun, fast paced arcade game that puts you in control of a squadron of fighter planes. On each level you must try to bring down the enemy squadron without losing all of your planes in the firefight. There are a variety of levels and game modes to keep things interesting, and the controls are simple but very fitting for the game in question.
At first, you will only be able to play through the main levels. On each level, you will take control of a plane, and you will have a squadron of fighter planes that follow behind. You will constantly move forward without input, but you can also move up or down by pressing the different movement keys on the screen. You will need to use the movement keys to line up shots against other planes. Once lined up, you can press the shoot key to open fire.
The game will end once either your entire squadron of fighter planes is destroyed or the enemy squadron is taken down. As you progress through the main levels, more types of enemy planes will be presented to you. Your squadron will also slowly grow in size to deal with the harder enemies.
On top of the main levels, there is also a survival mode that allows you to survive with a small squadron of fighter planes for as long as possible. The enemies keep coming, and you are rewarded for how many planes you manage to take down whilst alive. There are also special scenario missions that offer a twist on gameplay. In one scenario, you may be fighting a huge 10 V 10 battle, whilst in another scenario, you may need to survive on your own against an onslaught of bombers.
Pocket Squadron is completely free to play, and there are no in-app purchases to ruin the game experience.
