Review Microsoft Word Preview
Easily create documents, letters and more

Powerful functionality, lots of settings, simple design
inconvenient on smaller screens, lags here and there
Microsoft Word Preview for Android is truly a must-have app for anyone who needs to create dynamic documents and letters. This one has a lot to offer, and to me, comes closest of all the Microsoft Office apps to mimicking a seamless presentation between the desktop and mobile version.
Microsoft Word Preview displays in portrait and landscape, and surprisingly, I found it to be more effective in portrait, simply because the orientation lends itself best to viewing a full page document. You'll need to sign up for an account if you want to save documents or access existing ones off the cloud, but the app offers OneDrive, Microsoft Office and Dropbox integration so creating an account is certainly worthwhile. I'm a heavy Word user on my laptop and was quite impressed with how closely the interface resembles my full desktop version. The app functions relatively quickly throughout, with only modest hangs, here and there. The interface feels modern and intuitive.
There's a host of ready-made templates to browse, or naturally, you can just start with a blank document and create one from scratch. I found it a bit cumbersome to perform certain tasks, like creating tables and advanced text effects; it's all here and functional, I'm just not adept with it all as of yet in this mobile format. You can count characters and words, just like in the full version and perform most all of the advanced tasks, though I couldn't find the text to speech function I've come to love on my desktop version.
Microsoft Word Preview is the world's most popular word processor for a reason. This one is worth checking out.
