Fancy melody, decent graphics, interesting levels, simple controls
Lags here and there, too many ads
Hook Pro for Android is an app filled with all sorts of mini games based on the popular MOBA, Dota 2. In this game, you can test your hooking skills by tapping the screens to hook other Heroes that run past the screen.
There is only one set of rules for this game, but they span across various different game modes, including survival, career, time trial, sunstrike and precision. In each game, you will play as Pudge, a character from Dota 2, and you will need to tap the screen to extend your hook in an attempt to grab different objects.
For the most part, each object will move, so you will need to anticipate the movement before firing your hook. In some mini games, you will need to connect a certain amount of hooks within a time limit, whilst other games require you to fire hooks at incoming Heroes to avoid them hitting your base.
While the game suggests that it will help improve your hook accuracy in Dota 2, this is far from the case, and it is instead a fun app filled with mini games that should keep Dota 2 players entertained in between their matches. The graphics in the game match the in-game Dota 2 graphics closely, and even the sounds are very similar to those found in Dota 2; so players should enjoy the similarities found here.
Unfortunately, Hook Pro does have problems with lag, and you will notice quite a lot of frame rate stutter. The game is free, but there are many advertisements that get in the way of your playing.
