Review SolMail - All-in-One email app
Centralize all of your email accounts
Author: Brandon Girod
Date: 02 Jul 2017, tested on HTC One M8
Intuitively designed UI, beautiful aeshetic, easy-to-use features
Really missing how Gmail automatically sorts emails
If you’ve been a long time Android user who happens to manage multiple email accounts on one device, then you’ve probably been pretty annoyed about having to constantly switch between apps to juggle them all. SolMail for Android is an app that wants to give users a central hub to access all of their email accounts.
SolMail lets you synchronize all of your emails under one roof. You no longer have to go between the Email app and Gmail; although I’m not sure I know anyone who has ever used the Email app anyway. Adding multiple accounts acts the exact same as it does in Gmail, and is accessed the same way as well.
It supports multiple email domains and are accessed by swiping right or pressing the menu button. The email address you have currently selected will be at the top, and below is a list of all your folders. Clicking your current email address will let you select from different email addresses synced to the app, but you can also select “view all messages”, which acts as a central hub for all of your addresses synchronized to the app. I personally think that is the best feature going for it, since there are plenty of other apps that already centralize email accounts.
The only other real differences the app has between something like the Gmail app is the aesthetic and UI modifications. Your action buttons are on the bottom rather than in between your header and the main body of the emails. Composing an email is equally intuitive, but it gives you a way to attach pictures, files, and even stickers, that is slightly more visual than Gmail.
Overall, I think SolMail is a great email client that is well optimized. It does exactly what it sets out to do, flawlessly and very intuitively.
