An epic Star Wars adventure filled with epic battles and memorable characters
Author: Vlad Popa
Date: 13 Apr 2017, tested on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
Immersive Star Wars Universe, decisive moral choices, epic story and plot twists
Graphics feel outdated by today's standards
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic quickly became one of the best PC RPGs of all time. Its arrival on the mobile platforms ensures that it will reach and amaze a whole new audience with its amazing gameplay, deeply emotional moments, and brilliant storytelling. Not to mention a few interesting mini-games, such as speeder racing and a card game.
The game has its own, rather unique type of gameplay, by employing a semi-open world that the player can explore and discover, combined with real time group combat, with just a few strategic elements. The world is populated with memorable characters, both Force sensitive or otherwise. Interaction with these inhabitants opens up a wide range of dialogue options that allow stories to branch out into brilliant new directions. Moral choices are materialized in the form of Light or Dark Side points, that will determine how noble, or evil, your character has become. Pushing too hard into one direction may even have visual effects on your character.
The combat is extremely cinematic, with the main character engaging an auto-attack mode, giving the player the power over when and how special attacks and strategic moves will be handled. As the game allows the main character to travel in a party in order to tackle the difficult enemies ahead, it becomes critical to protect the more vulnerable members and to decide which character attacks where.
Overall, Knights of the Old Republic for Android is a timeless adventure in true Star Wars fashion. The story fits in perfectly with the Star Wars movies and overall Universe, having all the elements that make something truly amazing.
