AutoMath Photo Calculator is a nifty little tool that helps calculate those pesky little math equations that some just can’t grasp. More than that, it also offers step-by-step instructions on how it should be resolved, to facilitate learning and a better understanding of the equations.
The app’s main feature, the photo calculator, allows users to take a photo of the equation they are trying to resolve by positioning it within an adjustable rectangle. It may be a bit tricky to get what you want into the selection box, but the app allows the input to be edited once it has been transformed to text. Once the answer button has been tapped, the app will take a photo, retain only the selected area, and afterwards calculate anything within the rectangle. The app has decent writing recognition, though not as great as some competitors.
The app also offers an alternative to the photo input method, and allows the user to manually enter the equation they want resolved. This will run it through the same algorithms as the photo method, resulting in an accurate answer and step-by-step instructions, while also offering a multitude of functions
Overall AutoMath Photo Calculator for Android is a helpful app. However the photo calculator is a bit tricky to use, as it has trouble detecting some types of writing (especially handwriting), and layouts. This makes the manual input that much more practical. The step-by-step instructions can be extremely useful and the app answers most questions almost flawlessly.
