8.7Excellent
Lots of settings, various features, simple interface, simple design
Full version is paid
Unified Remote for Android is a remote control that will allow you to perform certain tasks on your desktop or laptop via the tools provided. The app supports Windows, Mac and Linux, and there is a free version, as well as a more fully featured pro version.
There are quite a few remote viewing apps out there, but this particular app focuses on giving the user simple remote controls that can simulate basic PC inputs. Its wide variety of features could be used for many circumstances. For example, the virtual keyboard tool could be useful for when your standard keyboard breaks. Another example is the remote viewing feature that comes with the pro version. With this, you will be able to view a desktop screen remotely, which will be perfect for individuals who need to access multiple PCs in their day-to-day life.
For the free version, you have access to a virtual mouse and keyboard, a file manager, and a standalone keyboard feature. You are also given access to a variety of power controls that allow you to remotely restart, shut down, and lock different PCs. The full version comes with more features, and even includes functions to allow you to set up NFC tags that can remotely trigger certain functions.
Overall, this app can be pretty handy, and it has been in development for a long enough time that most bugs and issues have been ironed out completely. It is a shame that most features cannot be used in the free version.
Unified Remote pro can be purchased for $4.99, whilst the other, less featured version, can be picked up for free.
