Functions quickly, convenient interface, neat design, ads are not confusing
Voice Recorder for Android is an application that can be used to quickly and conveniently record your voice or other sounds straight from your smartphone. Although there are usually recording apps on handsets and tablets by default, this app comes with a range of unique features and quality settings that make it stand out from typical pre-installed sound recorder apps.
You may have noticed that with many smartphones, the microphone apps are hidden within a folder or within another app, and they usually have a single button that can be used to record, pause and stop recordings. With this app, you are given a much nicer interface that is easy to reach and incredibly simple to use.
There is a nice text based record button on the home screen of this app, and tapping it once will start a recording. Tapping the button again will pause the recording. Once paused, a 'save' button will appear at the bottom of the screen. When recording, the app will display how loud the sound being picked up is up by showing different hues of color from light blue to bright red. The closer the screen is to bright red, the louder the recording is.
Within the settings, there are a few options such as silence mode, which can be used to get rid of background noise, and a few quality settings which can be used to change the sound quality of each recording. As expected, increasing the recording quality will increase file size, whilst lower quality is smaller in size.
Voice Recorder is free to download and install, although the free version does have pop-up ads, and some features, such as the HD sound quality option, can only be used if you purchase the pro version.
