Social media integration, interesting functionality, modern design
Slow renders, glitches, is lagging, high price
Magisto for Android is a video collage generating app. Just add photos and videos and let the app create a montage sequence you can share with friends.
Magisto is an interesting video montage app. The interface is clean and simple. The app does require you to create an account so you can share videos, or you can log in with one of your favorite social media accounts. Creating video montages is quite easy. Just click the create button, then start adding short video clips and pictures. The more clips and pics you add, the more interesting your final result will be. Once you’re done with your selections, the app gives you a host of soundtrack options to put your sequence to music. Once you’re happy with how it’s all coming together, just click one button and the app assembles everything for you into a short, sharable video montage.
The controls and interface are nicely presented. Just follow the onscreen prompts and you’ll have your first video done and online within a few minutes. The online galleries of user’s creations may spur some inspiration for your own creations. Or just browse all the creativity and amuse yourself and share with friends. You can post comments and interact with users online.
The video renders are a little slow and laggy. Plus browsing the online libraries is very slow and hangs a lot with constant buffering issues. The end result is fun, but the browsing is very bogged down and tedious, sucking most of the fun out of this app.
Magisto is a decent video montage creator, I just wish it functioned smoother and the online browsing wasn't so belabored. The annual subscription fee is also pretty steep for what little this app does and how glitchy it performs. This is fun, but needs some work and should cost less.
