Complex puzzles, good tips
Not super interactive graphics
Escape the Ghost Town for Android is a visual puzzle game that relies on your inner detective. You have to search rooms for objects and interact objects with other objects to solve clandestine puzzles. It’s a hard game, but thankfully walkthroughs are only a YouTube tap away, through the game’s footprint icon.
There are 15 separate rooms and locations in Escape the Ghost Town, and all of them are quite tricky. I've never really enjoyed playing these games because they always feel unfairly challenging to me. On the very first level you have to use a knife to slice open a potato sack. I would have never even thought to do that until I watched the tutorial. It just didn't seem like something I would be able to do, and that might just be key to getting through the puzzles. Try everything! Really, in order to get past the puzzles in this game you will have make some very wild associations, and leap across gaps to come to conclusions.
It’s interesting that the creators made the walk-through tutorials on YouTube so easy to get to. These videos have a TON of views, which leads me to believe that a majority of people have to access them. It can be fun to be stuck on a level and then see the “magic” that happens as you watch a puzzle you've stumbled through for thirty minutes be solved in seconds. Well, it can be either satisfying, or incredibly frustrating depending on what type of player you are. In my case, if I have to use walkthroughs like this, it makes me feel like I’m not so much playing the game as going through motions.
Escape the Ghost Town is a good game for hardcore puzzle solvers and object finding fans. It has great detail in the levels, but the levels are simply images that don’t really involve any sort of complex graphical dynamics like animation.
