Help Me Jack for Android is a quirky RPG hack-and-slash game. You choose one of three classes to explore the remnants of old cities on Earth, after they’ve all been destroyed by a mysterious explosion at a nuclear power plant. Your job is to go down, rescue everyone you can, and kill the rest.
The game isn’t a MMO, but for some reason it gives me the same sense and feel of a MMO type of game. You unlock levels as you play throughout the game, equip your character with loads of different weapons, and fuse them together. The levels are linear, but there are 5 stars to achieve in each. This corresponds to how quickly you beat the level.
The game’s design is awesome, and is probably its best asset. The animations are smooth, and the game runs flawlessly on my phone. I really enjoy the space theme, and a lot of the levels have different items that are destructible. Your character also changes appearance based on what gear you put on them, which is a nice touch that is often overlooked on mobile games. Even the menus and the main hub are just nice to look at and interact with.
If I had to choose one action RPG to stick with and play, it would probably be Help Me Jack: Atomic Adventure. To be fair, it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table in terms of gameplay. But if you think about Jimi Hendrix or World of Warcraft, they just took an existing formula and made it great. I think that is what this game does as well.
