Voiceover could be more motivating
Sworkit for Android is a personal training app that gets you straight into the action; but also has plenty of customization options for those who love tweaking and control. Immediately on opening the app, you are presented with a choice between "Strength & Cardio" or "Yoga & Stretching". Are you working out to pump up your muscles, or to increase your flexibility and posture?
Tap on "Strength and Cardio" and you can pick the full body workout, focus on specific body areas, or do intense or light cardio. The "Yoga and Stretching" option includes handy choices like Pilates, Yoga Sun Salutation, Full Body Stretch, Standing only Stretch and Back Strengthening.
For any workout type you select, you can choose a time length. The shortest suggested duration is 5 minutes, and the longest 45 minutes, but you can also enter any number of minutes and Sworkit will randomise through exercises to fit that time.
Each exercise has a short video you can watch, just in case you aren't 100% sure what a "Step Touch" is. You can download all the videos in case you expect your internet will be patchy, and this only takes up 40MB extra on your device.
If all that isn't enough for you, you can also create custom workouts. There are some neat preset "Custom Workouts" which can be edited. These include Full Body for Kids, Runner's Warm-up, Pregnancy - Full Body and Office Chair Refresher.
There are only a few differences between Sworkit Lite and Sworkit Pro. Sworkit Pro lets you save more than one custom workout, adjust the interval lengths and unlocks the 7-minute Workouts.
Overall, Sworkit is a solid workout app that is easy to follow. My only criticism would be that the voiceover could be a bit more motivating; perhaps with a whistle or an angry-sounding coach shouting at you.
