Glitchy animation, very linear
PLAYMOBIL Luxusvilla for Android is a doll house simulation game where you guide a couple through their daily activities to earn coins. You can then of course use your coins for buying more furniture or a car, and extend the gameplay possibilities.
Unlike some other games like this, you can't really change the view around much - you just have one view of the house which you can zoom in and out of. And you can't move furniture around, there are set places for your new stuff to go. You can change colors and upgrade your furniture, but the layout is fixed.
Gameplay involves keeping an eye on your characters for what they want to do next. This appears in a thought bubble above their head, with an arrow above the relevant piece of furniture. Then you just draw a path for them to walk to that area and get on with changing, swimming, dancing, cooking breakfast, eating, watching TV, showering or whatever. You can also get the characters to kiss for some extra points. A day plays out in a few minutes, and each day is much the same as the last.
The animation in PLAYMOBIL Luxusvilla is quite glitchy in places. It should be a good, safe, game to keep a child occupied for a while; though they may bore with it fairly quickly due to the linear gameplay. It's entertaining to watch the different activities up to a point, and you can feel you've escaped temporarily into the relaxing luxurious lifestyle of the dolls. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'd still rather see children play with real figurines, and make up their own crazy stories.
