Distinctive levels, exciting plot, exciting game play, convenient controls
Ever wanted to be the captain of your very own war ship? It's not exactly a dream many people possess, but the more you think about it, the cooler it sounds, and with Battle Group 2 for Android, you will be able to make these dreams a reality.
When you first load up this game, you will be unsure whether what your role is, but within seconds this is revealed as fighter jets and cruisers come dangerously close to the battleship that is shown in the center of the screen. An instructor will shout commands as you fire away at the incoming enemies, and you must try your best to avoid taking any damage.
Each vehicle cannot directly damage you, but if you leave them flying around, they will fire missiles which will fly towards your ship and cause damage to you. You are only given five bullets per round, so you must use your bullets wisely to take down any incoming missiles and then focus your fire on any planes or helicopters circling the area.
Because of the way the missile system works, you must time your shots carefully, and this can create quite a tense atmosphere. Backed up with the engaging background music and the commands from the in-game voice actor, the game can be quite immersive, despite the top-down view and retro 2D graphics.
Overall, Battle Group 2 is a very fun arcade FPS game that is filled with lots of action and hours worth of challenging missions. The game has in-app purchases, but for the most part you can play through the campaign without spending a penny.
